The Bainbridge Bx V team was able to participate in this year’s Seattle Invite tournament this past weekend. Despite just 1 win among the 5 games played, our V squad had a great showing against some stiff competition. BIU came away with 4 W’s in the Fall Bx season-opening doubleheader at Marymoor Park on Sunday 9/17. The V squad won a tight game against Mercer TRIBE, squeaking out a 13-12 victory at universe point (phew!). Meanwhile, the JV squad posted a 12-4 victory alongside, besting the Mercer JV team. The Bx Varsity team lost (3-13) in the quarterfinals of the state tournament, to #1 seed Eastside Prep (EPS). The team was a bit outmatched by last year’s runner-up, but the play was tight and Bainbridge made a good showing.Meanwhile, the Bx JV team had their final game against Sealth, losing 5-12 in windy conditions.

The Bainbridge BxV team will host its Mercer counterpart on Sunday, October 23rd at 12:00 noon on the BHS grass fields for a postseason battle. Bainbridge (5-2) finished 2nd in the PSL (Puget Sound League) division of DiscNW’s Fall Bx HS league, while Mercer finished 3rd. Though #1 finisher Lakeside is granted an automatic bid
In an away game on Thursday 10/13, the BIU Bx JV team had an outstanding performance, topping the Lincoln Lynx JVC squad 13-3. This brings their regular season record to 4-2, with the next matchup on Weds 10/19 away vs Sealth.
On Tuesday 10/11, Bainbridge hosted Lakeside, who beat both our V and JV squads. JV fell 5-13, while V lost 6-11. With this win, Lakeside V claims the #1 seed from our division, setting up our V team for a face-off against Mercer for the #2 seed and a bid to the WA state championship
Both of our Bx teams managed to defeat Mercer yet again at an away-field matchup on the morning of Saturday 10/8. JV won (13-5), to elevate their record to 4-1. Alongside, the Bx V squad battled for a universe-point win (12-11), bringing their record to 5-1.
